In short Only upload what is yours. Describe food honestly. Make no medical promises. Treat others decently. Everything else is below.

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply to everything you post in Yedeni: recipes with title, ingredients, steps, photos and videos; reviews and comments; collections; profile picture, display name and profile text; reports; and messages to the AI coach where they feed into shared content. They form part of the Terms of Service.

2. Rights in what you upload

You may only upload content if at least one of the following is true:

Not allowed Photos and videos from the internet, from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest or cookbooks — not even if you credit the source. Attribution is not permission. The same applies to screenshots of other people's content and photographed book pages.

A recipe as such — the bare sequence of ingredients and steps — is generally not protected by copyright. The individually written surrounding text, the photos and the videos almost always are. So you may cook someone's recipe and post it here in your own words with your own pictures; you may not take their text and images.

If other people are identifiable in your photos or videos, you need their consent. For children you need the consent of their legal guardians.

Watch out for trade marks too: you may use protected product names descriptively ("with Nutella"), but not in a way that suggests a connection with the brand owner.

3. What you allow us to do

By uploading you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to store, technically adapt and display the content as part of operating Yedeni. Your copyright stays with you. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account — details in § 4 of the Terms.

4. Content rules

4.1 Describe food honestly

4.2 No health promises

Yedeni is not a medical device and not dietary counselling. The following are therefore not permitted:

If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder: in Germany, Telefonseelsorge is available free around the clock on 0800 111 0 111 and 0800 111 0 222. Elsewhere, please contact your local health service.

4.3 Prohibited content

Content is not permitted if it

4.4 Alcohol and adult topics

Recipes containing alcohol are permitted but must be recognisable as such. Because Yedeni is usable from age 16, content encouraging excessive alcohol consumption is not permitted. Tobacco, cannabis and other controlled substances are not permitted as ingredients.

4.5 AI-generated content

You may use AI tools to create content. If you do: label it as AI-generated (Yedeni does this automatically for content generated in the app), check it for accuracy before publishing, and do not pass AI-generated images off as your own photos of a dish you actually cooked.

5. How we review

We are under no general obligation to monitor content and we do not do so. We review:

An automated check alone never produces a final decision about your account. A human always decides before a suspension.

6. What happens after a violation

We act in graduated steps and choose the mildest suitable measure:

SeverityMeasure
Minor (e.g. incomplete details, unsuitable photo)Notice asking you to correct it; the content stays online for now
Moderate (breach of the content rules)Removal of the content or restriction of its visibility, with reasons
Serious (infringement of rights, harassment, health risk)Removal and temporary suspension of features or the account
Very serious or repeated (criminal content, repeated infringement after warning)Permanent suspension and extraordinary termination; criminal offences are reported

We notify you of every measure and state the reason, the content concerned, the legal basis or rule breached, whether automated means were involved, and how you can challenge it. You may challenge any measure within six months — at support@yedeni.com or through the complaints function in the app. The procedure is described under Copyright and reporting illegal content.

7. Reporting something

Every recipe, review and profile has a report function. Report copyright infringements and illegal content through the formal procedure at Copyright and reporting illegal content or to support@yedeni.com. Reports concerning your own safety take priority and are handled first.

8. Partner content

Some recipes in Yedeni come from partners who expressly permitted us to use their content. Such recipes are labelled with their source and author and link back to the original post. If you are a rights holder and want to withdraw such permission, an informal message is enough — we then remove the content promptly.

9. Changes

We may adapt these terms when new features arrive or the legal situation changes. We announce material changes in the app at least 30 days in advance.
